Hollyburn 25 November 2006

There was about a half-hour break in the clouds yesterday, and looking up from UBC we saw the North Shore mountains. This was so appealing a sight, Jane and I instantly made plans to ski this morning. Oliver and Natalie ended up joining us. There was lots of snow and lots of sun at the parking lot.

And lots of snow and sun on the trailhead.

Some clouds rolling in, but they just made the view even better, I think.

Standard pit-digging photo. 7 full feet of snow pack ain't bad for end of November, eh?

And this is looking back from the North Shore Mountains to UBC, which is just the opposite of how we started this merry tale. So the upside to the little digital camera is I can post photos the same day I take them. Unfortunately, it appears rechargeable alkalines either suck generically, or suck specifically in the cold, so it thought they died and wouldn't let me take many pictures on the way down...
