Pitt Lake, Spring 2004

This was a truly lazy trip we took out to Pitt Lake. I don't even remember which weekend, anymore... Natalie and Stephen rented a canoe. Natalie paddled it, mostly. I borrowed Ross's sea kayak. Stephen had a very lazy trip.

This is Stephen's artistic rendition of his view, lying back in the front of the canoe. One could, of course, produce the same effect by flipping the slide upside down. Um, yeah. This one goes up to eleven.

Yep. It was a laid back lazy sort of weekend. Especially for some of us. Megan's comment on seeing these was: ``Wow, no wonder Natalie's so buffed and toned-looking!''

But I merely kid. Stephen did occasionally use the paddle for more than balance. Like when needing extra power to get over piles of flotsam left by the tides. This is their second attempt, on which they did not almost flip the canoe.

Holy underexposure, batman! Not sure what happened here.

Some of the tidal channels got a wee bit narrow. Maybe the sea kayak was not the optimal vessel for this trip. But it was still fun.
